You: I am currently a junior at the University of Florida and have had plenty of experience with the scooter parking situation on campus. I would like to consider myself an outgoing individual with a decent amount of involvement on campus that has allowed me to gain even more insight on this topic. If I were to create this parking area I know that it would greatly benefit me by providing me with much greater access to my classes and reducing stress in the overall task of getting on campus.
What are you offering to customers? My service is to provide place for individuals to park their scooters in a very popular area that currently has very limited spaces.
Who are you offering it to? I am offering this service to the University of Florida Students that use their scooters to get to the west side of campus.
Why do they care? Customers care and will use this service because it is currently almost impossible to find parking on this side of campus. In not being able to find parking students are often late to class or where ever they need to get to wherever they need to get to on campus. This leads to a lot of stress on students all over campus.
What are your core competencies? What I am offering is parking in an are where it is for the most part not offered or available elsewhere. I would be taking basically the only available space in the area and using it in a way that isn't offered any where else in the area.
I believe all of these all of these different elements only encouraged me more to pursue the idea. It seems to fix an issue that students are willing to pay for in an are that offers close to no competition. It is a solution that students seem to be begging for yet no one has taken the time to fix. Although the group I am targeting is very specific and limited, it seems to be a service that a large portion of this group would want to use.
Rob,
ReplyDeleteI think that the scooter parking could be a good thing, but my question is will these spots take spots for cars and other vehicles? I know that there are a lot of kids that have scooters in college but there are still lose you drive cars. Will they get parking spaces in these new lots? Scooters don't take a whole lot of room up, like a bike, so is there just going to be more room for these types of spots or will the whole lot be devoted to this?
Hey Rob,
ReplyDeleteMy main question when reading over all of this is, will their be any affiliation with the University of Florida? If not, is there an ample amount of for sale land that you would buy to use for such parking? I know personally there is land across the street from Lib West for sale, but maybe I am just not understanding the logistics fully behing your plan.
Thanks,
Michelle
