Solving the Problem

My solution is for the University of Florida Scooter and car parking situation around the western side of the campus. It is a known issue that there is insufficient university parking in this area and additional spots would be very valuable to the university and its students. I know that there is an empty lot near Library West and if acquired I would offer the university the use of the land so that students would have a place to park in such a useful location. This would be a valuable service the university could offer it's student in providing a place to park their vehicles and I believe they would be willing to pay for the use of the land. This partnership would not only help reduce stress on students but also bring more attention to a very nice side of the campus and encourage more involvement on campus. It would be very valuable to the student body and Gainesville community in general.

  1. Rob,
I think you will get a big following from students with scooters which seem to be a lot of them the key would be UF. A couple questions for you; what is being done with that vacant lot near library west? If it is vacant why doesn't UF acquire it themselves? Do you think they have other plans for that lot? I know they are doing a lot of contracting and remodeling near the university. Also what would be your angle? How would you acquire that lot? it looks like there would be a lot of money and politics involved. I think the idea Is there the key is actually acquiring the lot and convincing UF that Is what it should be used for.
